I am a jewellery designer maker based in the Cotswolds and the fairs I attend are usually in the counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Birmingham in the UK
I started silversmithing in 2001 and over 20years later I am more than ever utterly addicted. I am in the fortunate position to be able to work full time for myself doing what would otherwise be my hobby. I sit in my little cabin in Cheltenham in the heart of the Cotswolds UK listening to 6music with a hammer in one hand and a flame in the other very very happy that I no longer have to work for "the man". I design and make in the day and sell at fairs some weekends.
I love working with silver and particularly like using a technique called reticulation because of the organic look it gives the silver. I often use semi precious stones and copper with my pieces. I also like the twisty tendrils that were found in the Art Nouveau style and find them creeping back into my pieces again and again. It's a flippin cliche I know but I am inspired by nature... I'm embarrassed to sound like an echo of every designer but it just happened and so I am just going to have to embrace it. I promise that I won't declare that I am going to break the boundaries of anything though as that is cliche #number 2 .
So there we have it...it's not going to blow you away but it's about me..
